Abstract
Diallel crosses (Griffing’s type II) between 8 inbred lines of spring rape were made. The lines were selected from 30 breeding lines (SHR Borowo) based on the results of multivariate analysis of variance. Field experiments with parental genotypes and F1 hybrids were carried out in the years 2002 and 2003. Genetic analysis of nine quantitative traits was done. Significant effects of additive genes were found for all of the evaluated traits and for both years of the experiment. Significant dominance effects were only observed in the first year of investigations. Coefficients of heritability differed greatly between years of the experiment. These were always lower in the second year. The highest values of heritability were found for plant height (0.71 in 2003 and 0.30 in 2002), whereas the lowest ones were recorded for the number of pods per plant (0.19 and 0.05, respectively).
