Abstract
The aim of this study was to present the use of uni- and multivariate statistic analysis for evaluation of initial material diversity in wheat breeding. Material for the studies included 18 winter wheat cultivars utilized in breeding programs. The field experiment was carried out in the randomized block design with three replications. After harvesting, the plant height, grain weight per plant, ear length, grain weight per ear, thousand — grain weight, protein content and Zeleny test were recorded for all cultivars. In addition, rheological parameters were evaluated using the Brabender farinograph. The obtained data were analyzed statistically. Results of the statistical analysis showed that among the genotypes under study two, Alidos and Batis, may be distinguished as cultivars characterised by better performance of morphological and technological traits, as compared to than the other genotypes.
