As of January 1, 2022, the journal "Plant Breeding and Seed Science" is closed and no longer accepts submissions of new articles. People who want to publish their work are invited to submit it in the second journal published by PBAI-NRI - Bulletin of the Plant Breeding and Acclimatization Institute (we accept papers in both English and/or Polish).

The journal was founded in 1957 as "Plant Breeding Acclimatization and Seed Science" in the Plant Breeding and Acclimatization Institute (since 2010 Plant Breeding and Acclimatization Institute- National Research Institute) since the issue of 40 (in 1996) published under the name "Plant Breeding and Seed Science". The magazine was created to support researchers, plant breeders, advisory services, activists of agricultural chambers, agricultural producers and associations of producers, seed producers and distributors, teachers of agricultural schools, enthusiasts of science and breeding.
"Plant Breeding and Seed Science" published semi-annual scientific articles on the improvement and protection of agricultural crops, biotechnology, gene resource conservation and agricultural plant development.
The articles are published in English.

"LIST OF SCIENTIFIC JOURNALS AND PEER-REVIEWED MATERIALS FROM INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES.
In accordance with the Communication of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of 31 July 2019 on the list of scientific journals and peer-reviewed materials from international conferences, the journal "Plant Breeding and Seed Science" of the IHAR-PIB Publishing House was placed on the 27785th position in the "List of scientific journals and peer-reviewed materials from international conferences" and received 20 points.

THE "SUPPORT FOR SCIENTIFIC JOURNALS" PROGRAMME
In 2019 under the Ordinance of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of 20 September 2018 on de minimis aid under the 'Support for scientific journals' programme (Journal of Laws No. 1832 and 2198), the periodical "Plant Breeding and Seed Science" was financed pursuant to Contract No. 84/WCN/2019/1 of 7.06.2019.
The programme assumes the implementation of solutions supporting the development of the publishing house's activity and the improvement of the publishing process through:
- granting digital identifiers of electronic documents to articles
- (DOI - Digital Object Identifier);
- implementation of software for managing editorial and publishing works;
- Modernisation of the website;
- authentication of articles by means of anti-plagiarism programmes;
- training of editors;
- Introduction of verification and revision of scientific articles in the journal, including
- proofreading of the translation into a foreign language of those articles and of their summaries;

THEMATIC SCOPE OF THE JOURNAL

The journal publishes scientific articles on agriculture, horticulture and biological sciences, in particular on the improvement and protection of agricultural crops, biotechnology, gene resources protection and the development of agricultural plants.
