CODE OF ETHICS

PUBLICATION ETHICS
The journals and monographs published by the Institute of Plant Breeding and Acclimatization - National Research Institute is guided by ethical issues of the Committee on Publication Ethics COPE (https://publicationethics.org/).Detailed guidelines can be found at: http://publicationethics.org/files/u2/Best_Practice.pdf.
The guidelines determine the duties and rules relating to the Editors, Reviewers and Authors.
The process of editing and reviewing the submitted manuscripts should exclude practices such as:
• Unnecessary (duplicate) publication. Duplication of own works in submitted articles or sending to the editorial office a text published in a different language version.
• Plagiarism. Literal copying and paraphrasing work without the author's acceptance.
• Fabrication of data. Posting false results of work, the unfair substitution of results or posting non-existent research results.
• Unjustified adding authors or miss authors. Unjustified additions of authors or omission of actual authors, adding authors in a situation where they did not have a significant contribution to conducting research, planning, analysis, interpretation or in creating an article. The omission authors who make a significant contribution to the published research.
• Potential conflict of the interest, when there is a conflict between persons responsible for the review or publication preparation of the submitted article and its Author.
• Other unethical activities. Including those indicated in the Code of Ethics of a Researcher of 1 December 2016 (https://instytucja.pan.pl/index.php/kodeks-etyki-pracownik-naukowego)
In the case of reporting activity incompatible with the ethical issues of the publication, the Editor-in-Chief, editor of the journal or Editor of the publication will consider this with the accordance the COPE procedures (https://publicationethics.org/resources/flowcharts).
In the case of unethical practices, the editorial office will follow the recommendations of the COPE Committee on Publication Ethics, which are described at: https://publicationethics.org/files/Full%20set%20of%20Polish%20flowcharts.pdf

PROTECTION AGAINST "GHOSTWRITING" AND GUEST AUTHORSHIP" the recommendations of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education concerning protection against ghostwriting [writing an article, a book, etc. for another person who publishes it as their own work] and guest authorship [defined by Wager and Kleinert (2011) as authorship granted to an individual who does not meet ethical standards for authorship, because of his or her seniority, reputation or supposed influence]. Both phenomena are classified as academic negligence.
The following procedure is applied each time for each published research:
 written agreement of all authors for the publication of the work,
 information on the author's affiliation,
 written statement of the author (s) that the work is original and has not been published in a scientific journal, and that after being accepted for publication it will not be printed in another journal,
 written statement of the author (s) about their personal contribution to the publication, and that no one who made a significant contribution to the publication was not omitted.
