Abstract
Based on the acid polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (A PAGE) a new version of catalogue of gliadin protein blocks was worked out. The catalogue contains jointly 38 blocks. Eight, six, three, fourteen, four and three of them are coded by the chromosomes 1A, 1B, 1D, 6A, 6B and 6D, respectively. New blocks included to the catalogue were verified using genetic analysis of F2 hybrid genotypes. The observed frequencies of the analyzed gliadin components were compared with theoretically expected segregation ratio 1:2:1 for two allelic variants of one gliadin coding gene, and tested by the χ2test. Other new blocks (mainly coded by the chromosome 6A) observed in cultivars and strains selected from the collection of Plant Breeding Strzelce Sp. z o.o. were identified by comparison of their components with components of the blocks identified earlier. The new catalogue describes mainly gliadins commonly occurring in Polish cultivars and lines of winter wheat. It is recommended for analysis of breeding materials developed and investigated by Polish wheat breeders.
