Abstract

Eleven winter wheat varieties, differing in agronomic and quality traits, were chosen for diallel crosses (Griffing’s model II). Two experiments: with F1 and F2 generations (55 hybrids and their parents for each) were carried out at the ARS in Dłoń in 2004. Both experiments were performed in randomised block design with three replications. Heritability and genetic components for morpholohgical and yield components traits were calculated. The additive genes action was significant in determination of all examined traits in F1 and F2 generations. Dominance had a significant effect on plant height, number of spikes per plant in both generations, and on number of spikelets per spike and weight of grain per spike in F2 generation. Nonadditive component (H1) was higher than additive (D) for number of spikes in both generations. Differences were found between generations for heritability in broad sense for number of grains per spike, and for heritability in narrow sense for weight of grains per spike. Similarity between generations F1 and F2 in evaluation of additive, nonadditive genetic components and dominance was higher than evaluation of heritability in broad and narrow sense.
