Abstract
The effect of three herbicides on seed sowing value and chemical composition of grain was studied in winter and spring wheat, spring barley and spring triticale. The following herbicides (and their doses per ha) were used: Aminopielik D — 3 l/ha, Chwastox D — 3 l/ha (for barley and triticale, 5l for spring and winter wheat) and Granstar 75 DF (30 g). The residues of herbicides active substances in seed were analyzed either. Untreated plants served as controls. All the herbicides reduced germination percentage of the final count in all cereals, but there were no differences in the first percentage of germination. Aminopielik D and Chwastox D significantly increased content of protein and gluten in the winter wheat seed, the same did Aminopielik D with protein in the spring wheat seed and Granstar and Granstar 75 DF in barley seed. The protein and starch contents were variable in years as dependent on weather conditions of the vegetation seasons. Seed of all cereals contained no residues of active substances of the used chemicals (dicamba), or an herbicide residue in the seeds was fairly below the accepted limits.
