Abstract
Two methods of wheat haploid production - anther culture and wheat × maize crosses were compared. Material for the study covered F1 hybrids of winter wheat from 48 cross combinations. Efficiency of green plant regeneration was assessed in relation to anthers plated and florets pollinated. Significant differences in efficiency of wheat plant production depending on the method and plant genotype used were found. The coefficient of correlation between the effectiveness of applied methods was very low and not significant (r = -0.036). The parallel application of the two methods for haploid production made possible to obtain plants from 89.6% of the genotypes studied.
