Abstract

The field experiments were carried out in the years 2004–2006 to evaluate the reaction of six winter wheat cultivars: Sukces, Tonacja, Kobiera, Kobra, Trend and Finezja to phenylurea (Dicuran 80 WP, Arelon Dyspersyjny 500 SC) and sulfonylurea (Glean 75 WG, Atlantis 04 WG) herbicides. Wheat plants were treated with the herbicides in autumn, when they were at the stage of two leaves. The treatment with herbicides did not cause any damages to the wheat plants. No significant effect of the herbicides on the yield of grain was observed. The selectivity of herbicides was affected by weather conditions during the growing season. Negative effects of the herbicides Dicuran 80 WP, Arelon Dyspersyjny 500 SC and Glean 75 WG upon the wheat plants appeared when weather conditions were unfavourable for their development (cold and rainy spring and summer).
