Abstract

The paper presents the results of experiments concerning 6 spring and 5 winter triticale cultivars, conducted in two localities in two consecutive vegetative seasons. Every year triticale was sown in the last decade of October. Both vegetative seasons differed in winter period temperatures and rainfall. The following features were analyzed: grain yield, test weight, 1000 kernel weight, protein content, starch content, falling number, sedimentation value. Three-factor analysis of variance was used to examine the differences between winter and spring triticale cultures with regard to the above-mentioned traits. The significantly higher values were observed for winter cultivars for grain yield, test weight in 2006 and for 1000 kernel weight — in both years of investigation. The opposite was the case for falling number.
