Abstract
Breeding values of important agricultural traits can be obtained e.g. by application of suitable schemes of crossing parental forms. If the number of inbred lines is great, experiments with hybrids obtained from line tester crosses are usually performed. In this procedure, a number of inbred lines tested is higher than that using diallel crosses. However, selection of testers differentiating the analyzed inbred lines in respect of interested trait is often a large problem. In this work we deal with the results from four field experiments with spring rape. We analyzed GCA effects of six inbred lines in F1 generation after crosses with two testers (also inbred lines). The paper shows the results for seed weight per plant. Statistical analysis allowed to distinguish tester G49 as the most useful in differentiation of inbred lines in respect of this trait.
