Abstract

The paper presents a multivariate approach to estimation and testing the significance of combining ability effects of winter oilseed rape doubled haploid lines (DH lines). The statistical methods have been used to evaluate DH lines on the basis of observations of hybrids obtained from the line × tester crossing scheme. Multivariate effects of general (GCA) and specific (SCA) combining ability were calculated for 7 DH lines and 4 testers in respect of the contents of five saturated and unsaturated fatty acids: palmitic (C16:0), stearic (C18:0), oleic (C18:1), linoleic (C18:2) and linolenic (C18:3).
