Abstract

The effects of spring dressing of seed-potatoes on the occurrence of Rhizoctonia solani in plants and tubers were examined in the years 2003–2005 in Bonin, north-west Poland, using a mid-late table cultivar Bryza. The following treatments were applied: dressing with Monceren 250 FS at dose 60 ml/100 kg tubers, dressing with Pencycuron + JAU 6476 258 FS, dosed 62.5 ml/100 kg tubers, and a control without dressing. The dressing gave positive results. As compared with a control variant, the rate of infection of potato plants by Rh. solani decreased by 67.5–70.7%, and the index of black scurf severity was reduced by 90–92.5%. Moreover, the increase in the total tuber yield by 9–17.7% as well as in the marketable one (tuber size > 30 mm) by 8.4–9.8%, was recorded.
