Abstract
Experimental data were obtained in the field experiment conducted in PBAI (IHAR) Radzików in the years 2004–2006. The aim of this study was multivariate evaluation of 22 advanced lines and cultivars (bred in Bartążek and Wiatrowo) of perennial ryegrass, taking into account traits important in seed production. On the basis of multivariate analyses i.e. hierarchical cluster analysis and principal component analysis (PCA) 4 groups of genotypes were separated and described. The traits which have the biggest influence on multivariate diversity of the examined genotypes were height of plants, resistance to Fusarium nivale and seed yield (positively correlated with the first principal component) and resistance to lodging (negatively correlated with PC1).
