Abstract
Random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) was used to study fingerprints and genetic similarities among 16 Polish cultivars of winter triticale. Polymorphic DNA fragments were sought for by testing of 50 arbitrary primers. Final studies were carried out using 17 selected primers that allowed for amplification of the useful 30 RAPD markers. This set of markers produced fingerprints for all the studied triticale cultivars and constituted a basis for developing a dendrogram presenting genetic similarities among varieties.
