Abstract

Resistance of 28 winter triticale cultivars to Fusarium head blight (FHB) was studied under field conditions in the years 2002–2004. Average FHB severity was 23.3%. Cultivar reaction ranged from 14.1 to 39.9%. The majority of triticale cultivars was weakly or medium infected and did not differ significantly. Five cultivars were highly infected, significantly higher than the remaining ones. Coefficient of correlation between FHB severity and Fusarium kernel damage was significant. No correlation was found between FHB severity and reduction of yield components. Stability analysis showed stable reaction of nine cultivars to FHB over three experimental years. Six cultivars showed unstable reaction. One cultivar reacted with high increase of head infection to increased level of average FHB severity.
